We are continuously expanding our Young Peoples Training program and are currently looking for a candidate who wishes to undertake a Two Year Apprenticeship in the Butchery Trade.
This opportunity offers a permanent position after the candidate has passed their qualifications.
This permanent position will provide a varied,
challenging job in the catering trade with opportunity to develop lifelong
skills in food hygiene, catering and butchery skills. Good all round skills are
required; a background in catering would be advantageous.
39 hours per week full time or 24 hours per week part
Daily hours 6am to 3pm with time off during the week.
applicants must be able to start work at 6am and work Saturday mornings.
As a company we do not agree with the apprenticeship rates of pay so the candidate will be paid a wage according to their skills.
duties will include:
Full training in all aspects of the butchery trade.
During your training you will be assessed by a qualified trainer which will lead to a
NVQ Level 2 Qualification in Butchery.
You will also be trained in,
Slicing and packing of cooked meats and
Record keeping and stock rotation.
Packing of raw fresh meat.
Maintaining high levels of hygiene thorough day to day cleaning duties.
Willingness to learn and be prepared to adapt
to changes as required.
A constructive training schedule will develop your
skills throughout the year.
will be working in a modern butchers / meat cutting plant as part of a family
We operate as a close nit team where everybody helps
protective clothing will be provided.
Tea Breaks - 9.30am to 10am, 12noon to 12.30pm.
Holiday - Five weeks paid holiday per year (Restricted
holidays through busy periods.)
This is physical work that does require a reasonable
level of strength/fitness.
